{"id":601,"date":"2016-11-25T15:28:42","date_gmt":"2016-11-25T15:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cassandraclark.co.uk\/casscb\/?p=601"},"modified":"2016-11-25T15:34:32","modified_gmt":"2016-11-25T15:34:32","slug":"what-did-hildegard-do-first","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cassandraclark.co.uk\/casscb\/2016\/11\/25\/what-did-hildegard-do-first\/","title":{"rendered":"What did Hildegard do first?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I thought it might be in the spirit of Christmas to offer a free download of a prequel to Hildegard&#8217;s first appearance in <em>Hangman Blind.\u00a0<\/em> Readers often ask: why did she become a nun?\u00a0 or:\u00a0 what did she do before she joined the Cistercians?\u00a0 Consequently I&#8217;ve spent the last week staring with ever straining eyes at my screen trying to get 14,000 words onto Kindle and offering it for nothing more than the ability to download it.\u00a0 Imagine my dismay after all this to discover that it can only be offered for 5 days for free and afterwards will have to have a price.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping this will be at the lowest\u00a0 allowed on Kindle, something like 99p.\u00a0 So if you want it free you can try downloading it from tomorrow, Saturday.\u00a0 I hope it will fill in a few blanks in Hildegard&#8217;s story.\u00a0 I should warn you it&#8217;s a bit of an experiment in style &#8211; with no publisher to please, I was able to write as I felt.\u00a0 I hope you like it.<\/p>\n<p>Hildegard has\u00a0 never had her back story written down although I had a vague idea of what she did when I first discovered her and it has been great to trace her origins from the time of her marriage to the big and nasty Hugh de Ravenscar to her unexpected decision to become a nun.
